Dining
Dining in Niseko is not seasonal. While it’s true that some restaurants shut their doors as the weather warms up, others are open year round for truly delectable fare.
Golf
Niseko is located in the hilly basin between Mt Yotei and Mt Niseko Annupuri and this location means that even in the hottest summer months, the temperature hovers in the comfortable 18 t0 25 degree range. With low humidity, golfing is the ideal outdoor activity.
Niseko boasts picturesque courses, surrounded by pristine nature:
Hiking
With the snow melted in the summer months, Mt Annupuri is the ideal destination for a hike for any fitness or experience level.
Starting points include the Grand Hirafu summer gondola or the Niseko Annupuri gondola. The hike up to the summer is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, and tired legs can be rested on the way down by hopping on the gondola.
Mt Yotei is another fantastic climb, albeit a bit tougher. Trails start from Kutchan, Makkari and Kimobetsu and guides are recommended for this 5-hour hike up, requiring another 4-hours for the decent. A walk around the volcanic crater requires an additional 2 hours.
Cycling
Enjoying the outdoors on a bicycle is becoming one of the most popular activities in Niseko over the summer months. With ample bike rentals for all ages and experience levels, the whole family can enjoy paths and trails.
Guided tours of the resort can also be coordinated with plenty of relaxation spots.
Niseko has been a feature of Japan’s “Tour de Hokkaido” for years, with several local races as well.
